Trim Panel: Installation

NOTE: Before installing door trim panel, check that all trim retainers are securely installed to the panel and are not damaged. Where required, replace damaged retainers.
  1. Start retainer flange with 6.3 mm (1/4 inch) cutout into attachment hole in trim panel. Rotate retainer until flange is inside the attachment hole.
  2. Connect electrical components, where disconnected.
  3. Pull inside door handle inward. Position trim panel to inner panel, inserting door handle through handle hole in panel.
  4. Position trim panel to door inner panel so lower front locator and trim retainers and clips are aligned with attaching holes in panel. Tap retainers and clips into holes with clean rubber mallet.
  5. Install screws to door trim pad.
  6. Install screws to remote control handle escutcheon.
  7. Install remote mirror escutcheon and mirror control cable to escutcheon on styles with remote control mirror assemblies.
  8. Install wire harness to power window switch assembly.
  9. Install screws to door armrest and pull handle assembly into door inner panel or armrest hanger support bracket.
  10. Install inside door locking rod knob.
  11. Install all inside door handles.
