Neutral Safety Switch

  1. Place gear selector in the "N" position. Place transaxle control shift lever assembly (at transaxle) in Neutral. Loosen neutral safety switch mounting bolts. See Fig 1 .

  2. Rotate switch on shifter assembly to align service adjustment hole with carrier tang hole. Using a 3/32" drill bit, insert drill bit into adjustment hole to a depth of 3/8" and tighten mounting bolts to 22 ft. lbs. (30 N.m).
NOTE: Ignition key can only be removed with selector lever in the "P" position. The selector lever should only be allowed to move in any gear (from "P" position) when ignition switch is in the "I" position.
