Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor

MAP sensor measures and transmits a signal based on manifold pressure. The signal changes with manifold pressure changes which vary with engine load and RPM. The voltage signal transmitted during a closed throttle overrun condition would be relatively low as compared to the higher voltage signal created by a Wide Open Throttle (WOT) full load condition. The ECM uses MAP sensor signal to control fuel delivery and ignition timing.
