Troubleshooting Hints

NOTE: Try the following checks before doing the System Diagnosis.
  1. Check Luggage Compartment Release Fuse.
  2. Always check Terminal Contacts before replacing any component.
  3. If Door Locks operate from the Transmitter, but not from the Door Lock Switches, Check continuity of Door Lock Switch and associated wiring for an open or short, Repair/replace as necessary.
  4. If a second transmitter is available try it. If it works, change the batteries in the first transmitter and try again. If it still doesn't work it is defective.
  5. Check Portable Transmitter Battery terminals. They should be clean and make good contact with the battery.
  6. If in doubt as to the condition of the transmitter batteries, replace them with new ones. Measuring battery voltage with a DVOM may show a weak battery as being good.
