Code 22: TPS Signal Volt Low: Notes

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. Code 22 will set if TPS signal voltage is less than about .2 volt for 3 seconds and the engine running. This test confirms Code 22 and that fault is present.
  2. Simulates Code 21. If the ECM recognizes the high signal voltage and sets Code 21, the ECM and wiring are okay.
  3. With throttle closed, the TPS voltage reading should be at idle specification. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS.
  4. This simulates a high signal voltage to check for an open in circuit No. 417.
