Anti-Lock Brake System - STE: Description

The Teves 4-wheel Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) used on Pontiac 6000 STE models is designed to prevent wheel lock-up during heavy braking. This allows driver to maintain steering control and stop vehicle in the shortest distance.

Major components of system include pump/motor assembly, hydraulic accumulator, pressure switch, fluid reservoir with integral filter, 4 wheel speed sensors, master cylinder/power unit assembly, valve block assembly, fluid level sensor, Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) with "BRAKE" and "ANTI-LOCK" warning lights.
