Control Switch/Timer Relay Module: Removal

NOTE: Rear window defogger and TRAC OFF switches are not serviced separately. Power outlet can be serviced separately. If replacing control panel, transfer power outlet to new control panel.
  1. Controller switch and timer relay are integrated into a single instrument panel mounted assembly, located in center console. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove HVAC control knobs. Remove both center A/C outlet louvers by rolling them downward, and pulling out. Remove 2 top front center bezel screws from inside louvre outlet ducts. Using a trim stick, gently pry out and remove center bezel. See Figure .
  2. Remove 4 control panel retaining screws. Pull control panel out of instrument panel. Disconnect rear window defogger and TRAC OFF switch connectors. Note position of retaining bosses inside power supply base. Using external snap ring pliers with 90-degree tips, squeeze retaining bosses out of base and pull base out of base ring. See Figure . Disconnect base wires. Remove base ring. Remove control panel.
