Left Door Lock Switch Failure

NOTE: For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Clear trouble codes as needed. See BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Using scan tool, read driver's door zone switch voltage. If DRIVER DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 3 volts, replace driver's door lock switch. If DRIVER DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 3 volts, go to next step.
  2. Operate driver's door lock switch to lock position and observe voltage on scan tool. Do not hold switch in lock position for more than 7 seconds or code will set. If DRIVER DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 3 volts, go to next step. If DRIVER DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 3 volts, replace driver's door lock switch.
  3. Operate driver's door lock switch several times from unlock to lock position. Release switch. With switch in neutral position, observe scan tool voltage. If DRIVER DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 5 volts, system is currently functioning correctly. If DRIVER DOOR ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 5 volts, replace driver's door lock switch.
