Wipers Not Working In Low Speed Mode

NOTE: For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect HI/LO wiper relay from Power Distribution Center (PDC). See Figure . Turn ignition off. Turn wiper switch to LO speed position. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and HI/LO relay socket terminal No. 86. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair White wire for short to ground between PDC and multifunction switch. If resistance is 100 ohms or more, go to next step.
  2. Connect a jumper wire between wiper HI/LO relay socket terminals No. 30 and 87A. Turn ignition on. Ensure wiper switch is in LO position. If wipers operate in low speed, replace wiper HI/LO relay. If wipers do not operate in low speed, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect wiper module connector. See Figure . Ensure jumper wire between wiper HI/LO relay socket terminals No. 30 and 87A is connected. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Brown/White wire) on wiper module connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Brown/White wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair wiper motor.
