NOTE: For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Clear trouble codes as needed. See BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Using scan tool, read liftgate zone switch voltage. If LIFTGATE ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 4 volts, inspect liftgate key lock. Replace liftgate key lock as needed. If LIFTGATE ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 4 volts, go to next step.
  2. Turn liftgate key cylinder switch to lock position and observe voltage on scan tool. Do not hold key in unlock position for more than 7 seconds or code will set. If LIFTGATE ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 4 volts, go to next step. If LIFTGATE ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 4 volts, replace liftgate key cylinder switch.
  3. Operate liftgate key lock cylinder several times from unlock to lock position. Release key lock cylinder. With key lock cylinder in neutral position, observe scan tool voltage. If LIFTGATE ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 5 volts, system is currently functioning correctly. If LIFTGATE ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 5 volts, replace liftgate key cylinder switch.
