Ignition Switch: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative cable from battery. Remove tilt lever attaching screw. Remove lever. Remove upper and lower cover from steering column.
  2. Remove Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) if equipped. See POWER DOOR LOCKS & REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY article. Remove multi-function switch. See STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article.
  3. Disconnect electrical connector from ignition switch. See Figure. Remove Ignition switch mounting screws. Remove switch.
