DTC P1695: No CCD Message From Body Control Module
NOTE:
For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagram, see
WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
NOTE:
Monitored anytime engine is running. Set condition is when no CCD messages are received from Body Control Module (BCM) for 30 seconds. Possible causes are: CCD BUS (+) open circuit, CCD BUS (-) open circuit, defective wiring harness, BCM no response or defective PCM.
- Turn ignition on with engine off. Start engine and run for one minute. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If scan tool displays NO CCD MESSAGES FROM BODY CONTROL MODULE with a START RUN counter of zero, go to next step. If scan tool does not display NO CCD MESSAGES FROM BODY CONTROL MODULE with a START RUN counter of zero, go to step 6 .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector C1 (located nearest to front of vehicle). Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector C2 (located nearest to rear of vehicle). PCM is located to left of Power Distribution Center (PDC) in engine compartment. Disconnect 5 Body Control Module (BCM) connectors. Disconnect BCM 14-pin C1 Black connector, 10-pin C2 Natural connector, 22-pin C3 Natural connector, 6-pin C4 Black connector and 20-pin C5 Black connector. BCM is located behind left side of dashboard assembly. Inspect electrical connectors and clean/repair as necessary. Using a DVOM, check CCD BUS (+) circuit between PCM connector C2 terminal No. 59 (Violet/Brown wire) and the following BCM connectors/terminals:
- BCM 14-pin C1 Black connector terminal No. 3 (Violet/Brown wire).
- BCM 14-pin C1 Black connector terminal No. 5 (Violet/Brown wire).
- BCM 14-pin C1 Black connector terminal No. 6 (Violet/Dark Green wire).
- BCM 22-pin C3 Natural connector terminal No. 1 (Violet/Brown wire).
- BCM 22-pin C3 Natural connector terminal No. 2 (Violet wire).
- BCM 22-pin C3 Natural connector terminal No. 3 (Violet/Gray wire).
- BCM 22-pin C3 Natural connector terminal No. 9 (Violet/Brown wire).
If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair affected circuit as necessary. Perform TEST VER-2A: ROAD TEST FOR NON-OBD II .
- Using a DVOM, check CCD BUS (-) circuit between PCM connector C2 terminal No. 60 (White/Black wire) and the following BCM connectors/terminals:
- BCM 14-pin C1 Black connector terminal No. 9 (White/Black wire).
- BCM 14-pin C1 Black connector terminal No. 13 (White/Black wire).
- BCM 14-pin C1 Black connector terminal No. 14 (White/Dark Green wire).
- BCM 22-pin C3 Natural connector terminal No. 8 (White/Dark Blue wire)
- BCM 22-pin C3 Natural connector terminal No. 12 (White/Black wire)
- BCM 22-pin C3 Natural connector terminal No. 13 (White/Dark Green wire)
If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair affected circuit as necessary. Perform TEST VER-2A: ROAD TEST FOR NON-OBD II .
- Reconnect BCM connectors. Turn ignition on with engine off. Using scan tool, select BCM. Observe scan tool. If scan tool does not display NO RESPONSE, go to next step. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE, replace BCM. Perform TEST VER-2A: ROAD TEST FOR NON-OBD II .
- If no other potential causes are remaining, PCM is assumed to be defective. Replace PCM. Perform TEST VER-2A: ROAD TEST FOR NON-OBD II .
- Turn ignition off. Inspect wiring and connectors for damage. If wiring and connectors are okay, test is complete. If wiring and connectors are not okay, repair or replace as necessary. Perform TEST VER-2A: ROAD TEST FOR NON-OBD II .
