Scan Tool Programming Method

NOTE: The following procedure is for reprogramming an RKE transmitter without a valid, previously programmed transmitter and requires the use of a DRB scan tool.
  1. Turn ignition ON, place the transmission in PARK, and make sure the vehicle theft system is in disarm mode (if equipped).
  2. Select PROGRAM RKE, under MISCELLANEOUS. If the message "BCM IS IN PROGRAMMING MODE" does not appear, exit and select PROGRAM RKE again.
  3. Press any button on the transmitter. A single chime tone will acknowledge the RKE module has accepted the transmission.
  4. Repeat step  3 for all transmitters that will be used with this vehicle (up to 4). Programming mode will last for 30 seconds. To get out of programming mode sooner, press BACK PAGE.
