Test 12C - Bus Short To 5 Volts

NOTE: For connector terminal identification see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition off. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector "A" terminal No. 3 (Violet/Brown wire) and Gray connector "B" terminal No. 78 (Light Green/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown wire and Light Green/Red wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  2. Measure resistance between BCM Black connector "A" terminal No. 34 (White/Black wire) and Gray connector "B" terminal No. 78 (Light Green/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black wire and Light Green/Red wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  3. Measure resistance between BCM Black connector "A" terminals No. 3 (Violet/Brown wire) and No. 4 (Light Blue wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown wire and Light Blue wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  4. Measure resistance between BCM Black connector "A" terminals No. 4 (Light Blue wire) and No. 34 (White/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Light Blue wire and White/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  5. Measure resistance between BCM Black connector "A" terminal No. 3 (Violet/Brown wire) and Gray connector "B" terminal No. 79 (Tan wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown wire and Tan wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  6. Measure resistance between BCM Black connector "A" terminal No. 34 (White/Black wire) and Gray connector "B" terminal No. 79 (Tan wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black wire and Light Green/Red wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  7. Measure resistance between BCM Black connector "A" terminal No. 3 (Violet/Brown wire) and Gray connector "B" terminal No. 48 (Tan/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown wire and Tan/Red wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  8. Measure resistance between BCM Black connector "A" terminal No. 34 (White/Black wire) and Gray connector "B" terminal No. 48 (Tan/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black wire and Tan/Red wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace BCM.
