Interior Light Test 3A - Courtesy Lights On Constantly

NOTE: Perform INTERIOR LIGHT TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect courtesy light relay. See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 4A. If courtesy lights are still illuminated, repair courtesy light relay output circuit (courtesy light relay terminal "B") for short to battery voltage. If courtesy lights are not illuminated, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal "C" on relay socket. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace courtesy light relay. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Without disconnecting ohmmeter probe, disconnect headlight switch connectors. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Brown/White wire between relay terminal "C" and headlight switch 13-pin connector for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  4. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 3 (Brown/Light Green wire) on headlight switch 13-pin connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace headlight switch. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  5. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure . With ohmmeter probe still connected, observe resistance. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Brown/Light Green wire for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace BCM.
