Windshield Wiper Test 10A - Rear Wiper &/Or Washer Operating Continuously

NOTE: Perform WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Ensure rear wiper switch is off. Using scan tool, monitor rear wiper switch voltage. If voltage is more than 4.2 volts, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A. If voltage is 4.2 volts or less, go to next step.
  2. Determine if washer motor runs for 10 seconds each time ignition switch is turned to ON position. If motor runs, replace BCM. If motor does not run, disconnect rear wiper motor connector.
  3. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage on rear wiper motor connector, terminal No. 1 (Brown/Light Green wire). If no voltage is displayed, replace wiper motor. If any voltage is displayed, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector "B". See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage on rear wiper motor connector, terminal No. 1 (Brown/Light Green wire). If no voltage is displayed, replace BCM. If any voltage is displayed, repair Brown/Light Green wire for short to battery voltage.
