Power Door Lock Test 21A - Left Front Door Fails To Unlock

NOTE: Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Remove left front door unlock relay from junction block. See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 4A. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between relay terminals "A" and "C". If resistance is 60-80 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 60-80 ohms, replace relay.
  2. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage on terminal "C" of left front door unlock relay socket. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace junction block.
  3. Connect test light between left front door lock relay terminals "A" and "C". See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 4A. Using scan tool, actuate left front door unlock relay. If test light illuminates, replace left front door unlock relay. If test light does not illuminate, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A.
