Power Door Lock Test 19A - All Doors Fail To Lock From Any Switch
NOTE:
Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Ensure ignition key is removed. Using scan tool, read key-in ignition status. If scan tool displays KEY IN IGNITION: OPEN, go to next step. If scan tool does not display KEY IN IGNITION: OPEN, go to POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 19B .
- Remove door lock relay from junction block. See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 4A. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between relay terminals "A" and "C". If resistance is 60-80 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 60-80 ohms, replace relay.
- Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage on cavity "C" of door lock relay socket. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, replace junction block.
- Connect test light between door lock relay socket terminals "A" and "C". See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 4A. Using scan tool, actuate door lock relay. If test light illuminates, replace door lock relay. If test light does not illuminate, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A.
