Test TC-97A - No CCD Message From BCM

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. After each repair, perform TEST VER-2A.
  1. Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Start engine. Allow engine to run for one minute. Read DTCs. If scan tool displays NO CCD MESSAGES FROM BODY CONTROLLER, go to step 4). If scan tool does not display NO CCD MESSAGES FROM BODY CONTROLLER, go to next step.
  2. At this time, the condition required to set DTC is not present. NO CCD MESSAGE FROM BCM DTC sets when no CCD messages are received from BCM for 30 seconds. Possible causes are: CCD bus failure, open CCD (+) circuit, open CCD (-) circuit, failed PCM, no power to BCM, or failed BCM. Go to next step.
  3. Inspect wiring and connectors, Repair as required. If wiring and connectors are okay, see INACTIVE TROUBLE CODE CONDITION. Test is complete.
  4. If scan tool displays NO CCD MESSAGES FROM BODY CONTROLLER in step 1), turn ignition off. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector. Disconnect BCM 14-pin connector. Inspect connectors. Repair any terminals that are damaged, pushed out or miswired. If connectors are okay, go to next step.
  5. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of Violet/Brown wire between BCM 14-pin connector terminal No. 2 and PCM connector terminal No. 59. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Violet/Brown wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  6. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of White/Black wire between BCM 14-pin connector terminal No. 13 and PCM connector terminal No. 60. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open White/Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  7. Reconnect BCM 14-pin connector. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select BODY CONTROL MODULE. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE, replace BCM. If scan tool does not display NO RESPONSE, replace PCM.
NOTE: A break in test sequence occurs at this point. Sequence skips from TEST TC-97A to TEST TC-101A. No tests have been omitted.
