ABS Bleeding

  1. Connect scan tool to 16-pin Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located under lower instrument panel, next to left kick panel. See Fig 1 .
  2. On all models, use scan tool to check for any stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). If any DTCs codes are present, erase them using scan tool. Perform base brake bleeding procedure. See MANUAL BLEEDING or PRESSURE BLEEDING headings below. Repeat procedure until brake fluid flows clear and free of bubbles.
  3. Using scan tool, go to BLEED ABS. Depress pedal firmly and initiate BLEED ABS cycle 1 time. Release brake pedal. Bleed base brake system again.
  4. Repeat step 3) as necessary until fluid is free of bubbles. Check master cylinder fluid level frequently. Disconnect scan tool and road test vehicle. Ensure brakes operate properly and pedal is solid.
