Power Door Lock Test 1A - Identifying Power Door Lock Problems
NOTE:
Perform SYMPTOM ID TEST 1A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION section in this article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Lower both front windows. Close all doors and turn ignition off. Lock and unlock door from all front door switches, including key lock cylinders if vehicle is equipped with Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS). If door locks operate properly, go to next step. If any door(s) fail to lock or unlock properly, go to appropriate test. See POWER DOOR LOCK SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC TEST DIRECTORY table.
- Turn ignition off and leave key in ignition switch. Open left front door. Using either switch, lock doors. If doors did not lock, go to next step. If doors lock (with key in ignition switch and left front door open), go to POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 6A.
- Close and unlock all doors. Drive vehicle at a speed greater than 15 MPH. If doors do not lock, go to POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 7A. If doors lock, system is functioning properly.
