Test 11A - Electro/Mechanical Instrument Cluster Odometer Failure

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. Perform TEST VER - 1A after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using DRB-II, read electronic instrument cluster faults. If fault 08 (odometer test failure) exists, replace body controller. If fault 08 does not exist, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC) connector. Check connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary.
  2. Check if odometer is original equipment. If odometer assembly has not previously been replaced, replace odometer assembly. If odometer assembly has been replaced previously, replace printed circuit board.
