Test 2A, Testing Blank DRB-II Message Screen
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAM
.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect DRB-II. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage at terminal No. 2 (Red wire) of CCD BUS ABS diagnostic connector. See Figure . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to step 4).
- Turn ignition off. Using DVOM, measure resistance at terminal No. 6 (Black/Light Green wire) of CCD BUS ABS diagnostic connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Light Green wire. After repairs are complete, perform TEST VER-1A .
- Test DRB-II on another vehicle. If DRB-II functions properly, replace DRB-II cable, and perform TEST VER-1A . If DRB-II still does not function properly, replace DRB-II.
- Remove fuse No. 23 from Power Distribution Center (PDC). Inspect fuse. If fuse is open (blown), go to step 6). If fuse is good, using DVOM, measure voltage at power-feed side of fuse.
- If voltage is greater than 10 volts, repair open in Red wire between fuse block and CCD BUS ABS diagnostic connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Red/White wire to fuse block. After repairs are complete, perform TEST VER-1A .
- Ensure ignition is off. Using DVOM, measure resistance to ground at output side of fuse No. 23. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Red wire to fuse block. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace fuse. After repairs are complete, perform TEST VER-1A .
