Test 11A, Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Continuity Fault

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAM  .
  1. Inspect left front Wheel Speed Sensor (WSS). Replace left front WSS if damaged, and perform TEST VER-1A  . If left front WSS is okay, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect left front WSS 2-pin connector located near brake master cylinder. Using DVOM ohmmeter scale, measure resistance across left front WSS connector terminals. See Figure . If resistance is 1000-4000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 1000-4000 ohms, replace left front WSS. After repairs are complete, perform TEST VER-1A  .
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect CAB 60-pin connector. Select DRB-II ohmmeter mode. See DRB-II VOLT/OHMMETER MODE under DRB-II TEST FUNCTIONS. Measure resistance at CAB 60-pin connector terminal No. 8 (Red/Dark Blue wire). See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Red/Dark Blue wire. After repairs are complete, perform TEST VER-1A  .
  4. Measure resistance on CAB 60-pin connector terminal No. 9 (Red wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Red wire. After repairs are complete, perform TEST VER-1A  .
  5. Connect jumper wire between ground and CAB 60-pin connector terminal No. 8 (Red/Dark Blue wire). Using DRB-II, measure resistance at left front WSS harness connector terminal No. 1 (Red/Dark Blue wire). See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Red/Dark Blue wire. After repairs are complete, perform TEST VER-1A  .
  6. Disconnect jumper wire from CAB 60-pin connector terminal No. 8 (Red/Dark Blue wire). Connect jumper wire between ground and CAB 60-pin connector terminal No. 9 (Red wire). Measure resistance on left front WSS harness connector terminal No. 2 (Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, disconnect jumper wire and replace CAB. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Red wire. After repairs are complete, perform TEST VER-1A  .
