Test 17F, Modulator Fault

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAM  .
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect CAB 60-pin connector. Check and clean connector terminals, and repair if necessary. Select DRB-II ohmmeter mode. See DRB-II VOLT/OHMMETER MODE under DRB-II TEST FUNCTIONS. Probe modulator female connector terminal No. 7 (Dark Green/White wire). See Figure .
  2. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Green/White wire. After repairs are complete, perform TEST VER-1A  . If resistance is 5 ohms or more, connect jumper wire between ground and CAB connector terminal No. 48 (Dark Green/White wire). See Figure .
  3. Using DRB-II ohmmeter mode, probe modulator female connector terminal No. 7 (Dark Green/White wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace CAB. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Dark Green/White wire. After repairs are complete, perform TEST VER-1A  .
