Test 12A, Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Fault
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAM
.
- Using DRB-II, read fault messages. If DRB-II displays LF WSS CONTINUITY FAULT message, perform TEST 11A . If DRB-II does not display LF WSS CONTINUITY FAULT message, go to next step.
- Remove and inspect left front Wheel Speed Sensor (WSS). Replace left front WSS if damaged. After repairs are complete, perform TEST VER-1A . If left front WSS is okay, inspect left front tone wheel for damage (chipping, cracking or missing teeth). Replace tone wheel if damaged. After repairs are complete, perform TEST VER-1A . If tone wheel is okay, go to next step.
- Disconnect left front WSS 2-pin connector located near fender panel, under brake master cylinder. Using DVOM ohmmeter scale, measure resistance across left front WSS connector terminals. See Figure . If resistance is 1000-4000 ohms, inspect and repair ABS wiring harness between CAB and WSS if necessary. If harness is okay, replace CAB. If resistance is not 1000-4000 ohms, replace left front WSS. After repairs are complete, perform TEST VER-1A .
