Rear Wheel Speed Sensor: Removal
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel and tire assembly. Remove sensor assembly grommet from underbody, and carefully pull harness cable through hole in underbody until connector is visible. Unplug connector from harness. Remove sensor cable grommet retaining screw from brake hose bracket, located just forward of trailing arm bushing.
- Remove sensor cable retaining clip located on inboard side of trailing arm. Remove sensor cable wire fastener from rear brake hose bracket. Remove sensor assembly retainer nut from outboard axle housing.
- Remove sensor head screw. Carefully remove sensor by pulling straight out from housing. If sensor is stuck or frozen/corroded in place, DO NOT use pliers to remove. Use hammer and punch to LIGHTLY tap edge of sensor ear, rocking sensor from side to side until it is free enough to be pulled out.
