Starter - Direct Drive: Description
Starting system consists of a starter motor, solenoid, battery, ignition switch, neutral safety switch (A/T) or clutch engage switch (M/T) and necessary cables and wires. See Fig 1.
CAUTION:
Starters are extremely sensitive to hammering, shocks and external pressure. DO NOT
clamp starter in a vise by field housing. Damage to magnets could result. Starter may be clamped in vise by mounting flange.
