No Start Test No 12 - Checking System For Codes

Connect tester to diagnostic connector. Clear fault codes. Refer to ERASING CODES FROM SMEC MEMORY  in this article. Crank engine for 7 seconds and then turn ignition switch to "RUN" position for 5 seconds before turning ignition off. Using tester enter Diagnostic Mode. Refer to ENTERING ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS  in this article. Record all codes. If codes 88-12-55 are displayed, repair Dk. Green/Black wire of ASD relay for an open circuit. If no code 88 or 00 are displayed, go to NO START TEST NO 13  . If codes 88-11-12-55 are displayed, go to NO START TEST NO 14  . If codes 88-12-42-55 are displayed, go to NO START TEST NO 15  . If codes 88-12-14-22-24-55 or 88-12-14-22-23-24-55 are displayed, repair Black/Lt. Blue wire in cavity No. 4 of 60-pin connector for an open circuit.
