Cruise Control System Test No 6 - Cruise Control Resume Circuit Check
- With tester connected to diagnostic connector, put system in Sensor Test "09". Refer to ENTERING ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS in this article. Turn cruise control on. Without disconnecting connector, connect a jumper wire between White and White/Lt. Green wires of cruise control switch harness connector. If tester displays "01", replace cruise control switch. If tester displays "00", go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect 60-pin connector from SMEC. Connect a voltmeter between White/Lt. Green wire in cavity No. 7 and ground. Turn ignition on. Move cruise control switch to "RESUME" position. If voltmeter reads battery voltage, replace SMEC for a bad logic board. Before replacing SMEC, check terminal in cavity No. 7 of 60-pin connector for an open circuit to cruise control switch. If voltmeter reads zero volts, repair White/Lt. Green wire in cavity No. 7 for an open circuit to cruise control switch.
