Rectifier Test

  1. Separate positive diode leads from negative diode leads. Using a volt/ohmmeter, test for continuity from positive heat sink to each of the positive diode leads. See Fig 1.
  2. Reverse volt/ohmmeter test leads and repeat test. The test should show continuity in one direction only. Test for continuity from negative heat sink to each of the negative diode leads.
  3. Reverse volt/ohmmeter test leads and repeat test. The test should show continuity in one direction only. If failure is detected in either test, replace rectifier assembly.
