Charging System Test No 2 - Checking Battery Temperature Sensor Calibration

  1. With tester connected to diagnostic connector, put system in Engine Running Test "61". Refer to ENTERING ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS  in this article. If display on tester reads between .2-3 volts, go to next step. If display on tester is not reading between .2-3 volts, replace SMEC for a bad logic board.
  2. Put system in Engine Running Test "67". Refer to ENTERING ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS  in this article. If display on tester reads between 13-15 volts, check battery and also check for battery drain down condition. If display on tester is not reading between 13-15 volts, check alternator.
