Air Cleaner - Thermostatic: Description

Carbureted vehicles have a thermostatic air cleaner. The air cleaner is equipped with an air control valve inside the snorkel which, depending on valve position, allows either heated exhaust shroud air or cooler ambient air into the carburetor. Valve position is controlled by a vacuum motor which responds to a bi-metallic sensor (part of thermosensor).
