Speed Control Throttle Cable

NOTE: Speed control clevis is connected to carburetor by a spring clip or snap ring. The speed control cable is attached to the servo by a spring clip. If either of these clips are missing the speed control system will be inoperative.
  1. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Carburetor should be at curb idle with choke off. Remove snap ring or spring clip. Clearance between throttle stud and cable clevis should be 1/16" (1.6 mm), 3/32" (2.4 mm) on Dakota. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . If necessary, loosen cable retaining clamp to adjust cable.
  2. Pull all slack out of cable using head of stud as a gauge. DO NOT  move throttle away from curb idle position. Tighten retaining clamp nut to 45 INCH lbs. (5 N.m) and move cable clevis back to round portion of stud. Install snap ring or spring clip.
