Tune-Up Notes
NOTE:
When performing any tune-up procedures, the following notes and precautions should be used as guidelines:
Because of late changes and corrections, refer to Engine Tune-Up Decal in engine compartment, before performing tune-up. If manual and decal differ, always rely on decal specifications.
Avoid creating engine misfire in more than one cylinder for an extended period of time. Damage to converter may occur due to loading converter with unburned air/fuel mixture.
Never add cleaning products to fuel tank or fuel system as damage to catalytic converter could result. The petroleum industry has added detergents to some gasoline blends that are designed to clean fuel systems without damaging catalytic converters. These are the only acceptable detergents.
