Output Signal Chart-Step 1

  1. Turn ignition off and disconnect negative battery cable. Remove large and small harness connectors from ECU. On Colt Vista, ECU is located under driver's seat.
  2. Turn ignition switch to "LOCK" position. On ECI Checker (MD998451 for Colt Vista), set check switch to "OFF" position and select switch to "A" position.
  3. Connect White connectors (labeled "CHECKER") of Harness Connector (MD998452 for Colt Vista) to ECI checker, and then connect harness connector to ECU and harness connectors. See Fig 1 .

  4. Perform checks according to appropriate MPI SYSTEM OUTPUT SIGNAL CHARTS-STEP 1 in this article. If checker shows any deviation from specifications, check sensor and related electrical wiring. Repair or replace if necessary.
  5. After repair or replacement, recheck with ECI checker to confirm repair has removed problem.
