Dr9 - Checking For No Code 88
- Disconnect diagnostic read-out box from engine harness connector. Connect a voltmeter to cavity "4" of the engine harness connector and ground. Turn ignition switch to the "RUN" position. If voltmeter reads between 4 and 5 volts, voltage is okay. Proceed to step 2). If voltage is not okay, proceed to step 3).
- Turn ignition switch to the "OFF" position. Disconnect 14-way connector from computer. Connect ohmmeter between cavity "2" of engine harness diagnostic connector and cavity "14" of the computer 14-way connector. If ohmmeter shows continuity, ensure the terminal in connector cavity "14" is not spread apart causing a poor connection. If connection is okay, replace computer. If there is no continuity, repair wire of cavity "14" for an open circuit to the engine harness connector.
- Disconnect diagnostic read-out box. Turn ignition switch to the "OFF" position. Disconnect the 14-way connector from the computer. Connect an ohmmeter between cavity "4" of the engine harness connector and cavity "1" of the computer 14-way connector. If ohmmeter shows continuity, ensure the terminal in connector cavity "1" is not spread apart causing a poor connection. If connection is okay, replace the computer. If there is no continuity, repair wire of cavity "1" for an open circuit to the engine harness.
