Carburetor CEC Tests W/Codes: Description

The Electronic Fuel Control system (EFC) is used on all 1.6L and 2.2L carbureted engines with front wheel drive. EFC is an electronically-controlled system that closely controls air/fuel ratio and ignition timing. The Spark Control Computer (SCC) is the heart of the system.

This computer provides the capability of igniting a lean air/fuel mixture according to different modes of engine operation. Also, during closed loop operation, the computer maintains the air/fuel mixture close to the ideal ratio of 14.7:1.
