Carburetor Switch Test
- With engine at normal operating temperature, turn ignition off and disconnect 10-pin connector from computer. With throttle completely closed, connect ohmmeter leads to cavity No. 7 and ground. Continuity should exist without resistance.
- If no continuity is indicated, check wire from cavity No. 7 to carburetor switch terminal. If continuity is indicated with resistance, clean corrosion from carburetor switch. Also check carburetor switch for proper operation.
- Open throttle and again check for continuity from cavity No. 7 to ground. There should be no continuity. If continuity exists, check wire from cavity No. 7 for a short to ground. If readings are not as described, replace carburetor switch.
NOTE:
After performing carburetor switch test, perform tests on the coolant sensors, spark control system and fuel control system.
