Fuel Injection Mixer & Injectors

  1. Disconnect secondary wire from ignition coil. Disconnect vacuum hose from nipple on fuel pressure regulator. Drain radiator.
  2. Remove 2 screws and 2 bolts from fuel injection mixer. Remove cover assembly from mixer. Remove and hold 1 injector in one hand. In other hand, hold cloth away from end of injector to catch fuel spray.
  3. Turn ignition switch to "START" position. Injector should spray fuel in a good pattern without being injected in "streams". Perform test on other injector. DO NOT  perform this test for more than 1 or 2 seconds and keep all body parts away from tip of injector.
  4. Turn ignition "OFF" and check for fuel leakage at injector tip. If spray pattern is not acceptable or fuel leakage occurs after ignition is turned off, replace injector.
  5. Remove "O" ring in top of fuel injection mixer body and replace with new "O" ring. Install injectors and cover. Insert bolts and screws and tighten evenly, in steps, to specifications.
  6. Reconnect vacuum hose to fuel pressure regulator. Reconnect secondary wire to ignition coil.
