The clutch is a diaphragm spring, single disc type. On Challenger, Sapporo and Gas Pickup models, operation is mechanically-controlled by cable.

On Diesel Pickup models, the clutch operation is controlled by hydraulic release cylinder connected, by a hydraulic line, to the clutch master cylinder. The Pedal connects to master cylinder by an adjustable rod. On all models, the clutch release bearing is permanently lubricated and sealed.
