Steering Column: Installation

  1. Insert steering shaft from inside vehicle. Connect joint assembly to steering shaft and gear box (4WD Pickups). Connect shaft to steering gear housing main shaft with bolt hole facing down. Tighten clamp bolt. Attach tilt bracket to pedal support member.
  2. Apply sealer to dust cover bolt holes. Install dust cover to body. Install column switch and route and secure wiring harness along column tube. Reconnect switch connectors and install column cover.
  3. Make sure wheels are straight and steering wheel lock is locked. Install steering wheel, tighten nut and install horn pad.
