  1. Remove compressor belt and rotate compressor until oil filler plug is at top dead center.
  2. Clean surrounding area of filler plug and remove plug slowly. This will allow refrigerant to separate from oil.
  3. Rotate front plate hub so that notch in lobe is 110° from the bottom (see Fig 1).
    NOTE: This will allow the ball end of the top piston to align with oil fill port and allow clearance for dipstick.
  4. Insert dipstick (tool no. C04504) diagonally from right to left until stop on dipstick contacts filler plug surface (see  Fig 2 ). 
  5. Remove dipstick and note the oil level. Dipstick is marked with 8 increments. Each increment represents 1 ounce of oil. Add oil (if necessary) until oil level reaches 3 to 4 ounces.
