Fuel Evaporation System: Testing

  1. Set ohmmeter on 200-ohm scale. With engine cold, disconnect thermoswitch and connect ohmmeter between terminals of thermoswitch. Start and run engine.
  2. When coolant temperature rises over 140°F (60°C) on turbo models and 86°F (30°C) on non-turbo models, ohmmeter reading should change from infinity to continuity. 3)If ohmmeter does not change as specified, check circuit for open. If circuit is okay, replace thermoswitch.
