Checking System Under Pressure

Pinch PCV hose. Close off exhaust pipe. Fully open throttle flap. Remove airflow sensor. Using a compressed air gun with a rubber hose on tip, blow air through air intake junction using a rag around rubber hose to prevent leakage. Using a brush, apply soapy water to all points. If there is a leak, bubbles or foam will appear at affected area. Replace defective gaskets, hoses or punctured junctions as the case may be.
