Internal Leak Test

  1. Turn ignition on. Wait for pump to stop operating and then wait an additional 3 minutes for system to stabilize. If system pressure drops more than 145 psi (1000 kPa) in 5 minutes, check for external leaks. If no leaks can be found, replace electrovalve/master cylinder assembly and retest.
  2. Turn ignition off. Depress brake pedal approximately 25 times to depressurize system. Install pressure gauges on both front wheels. Depress brake pedal and adjust front wheel pressure to 1450 psi (10,000 kPa). See Fig 1 .
  3. Turn ignition on. Wait for pump to stop operating. If pressure drops more than 72.5 psi (500 kPa) on front wheels or 145 psi (1000 kPa) on entire system, check for external leaks. If no leaks can be found, replace electrovalve/master cylinder assembly and retest.
