Injection Nozzles
A pressurized mist of fuel is injected into a round swirl chamber. Combustion actually begins in rich swirl chamber and continues on through a small passageway and into leaner main chamber. As peak cylinder pressures build in swirl chamber, rather than main chamber, loads on connecting rods and crankshaft are reduced.
NOTE:
Peugeot engines use injection nozzles and nozzle holders which are matched to the injection pump.
