No Load Pressure Test

  1. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Disconnect the air hose leading to the pumps Load Detector (LDA). Connect Test Gauge (8. 1503) to the LDA fitting.
  2. Start engine and let idle. Allow oil to build to normal operating pressure. Raise engine speed to 4800 RPM. The boost pressure must be 6.2 psi (.44 kg/cm2 ) minimum.
  3. If boost pressure is not at minimum pressure, check air intake circuit, valve clearance and no-load maximum RPM.
