Injection Nozzles
Engines use DNO SD 1510 nozzles with KCA 17S38/4 holders. Opening pressure is 1679-1825 psi (118-128 kg/cm2 ) on non-turbo models or 1788-1930 (125-135 kg/cm2 ) on turbo models.
A pressurized mist of fuel is injected into a round swirl chamber. Combustion actually begins in rich swirl chamber and continues on through a small passageway and into leaner main chamber. As peak cylinder pressures build in swirl chamber, rather than main chamber, loads on connecting rods and crankshaft are reduced.
