Exhaust Emissions System - Catalytic Converters: Description

The catalytic converter system is added to exhaust system to convert unburned hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide emissions to less harmful water vapor and carbon dioxide. This is accomplished through the chemical reaction of the emissions and the internal structure of the catalytic converter. The converter is located between the front and rear mufflers.
